Jin & Tones Charcoal & Curiosity: Portrait Workshop

from $48.00

Charcoal & Curiosity: Drawing from the Inside Out

A mindful and messy portrait workshop to reconnect with your creative spark.

Get your hands dirty and your imagination fired up in this expressive charcoal drawing workshop led by your friendly neighbourhood artist Phuong.

Not going to lie, you will get a bit of charcoal on your face! Messiness encouraged 👌

Designed for beginners who crave a little creative challenge and an excuse to drink with friends, this 75 minute session uses playful portrait exercises to gently quiet the inner critic and awaken your inner child. You’ll explore bold marks, quick gestures, and soft smudges — to enjoy the magic of making something with your own hands and unlock a new skill.

Through guided steps, tears of laughter, and connection, you’ll leave with a unique portrait and an even a deeper connection with your team/friends/family and yourself. You’ll team up with a partner and share plenty of laughs as you embark on a creative journey together.

✨ No drawing experience required
🖤 Everyone receives a take-home starter drawing kit (willow charcoal, kneadable eraser, blending stumps, acid-free cartridge paper)
👕 Please wear something dark or that you don’t mind getting a little messy

😉🤳 Option to draw a selfie self portrait or your partner

📍 On location — I’ll come to your chosen space (office, event, retreat—you name it) with everything ready to go. You just show up and draw.
